The World of Darkness is the setting for some of the most popular role playing games ever created, by WhiteWolf Gaming Studios. Vampire: the Masquerade, Werewolf: the Apocolypse, Mage: the Ascension, and Changeling: the Dreaming are just a few of the books and chronicles available for this series of games which take place in a world very much like our own, just a bit more sinister, a tad more violent, and perhaps, just maybe, much more supernatural. On the internet, these games are available to everyone on a 'learn as you go' basis, via multi-user games called MUSHes (Multi User Shared Hallucinations). I grew interested in these games almost two years ago after reading an article in Internet World about a game called The Damned. The Damned eventually split into two separate MUSHes, Dark Gift and The Masquerade, just two of the many MUSHes available online. This page is meant to help new players figure out how to get involved in any World of Darkness MUSH, but is devoted to Dark Gift MUSH in particular because it is the best game I've found on the net and the one where I spend the most time. To connect to Dark Gift, use a MUSH/MU* client or a telnet application and go to telmaron.darkgift.com (port 6251).
